I visited Whitby, you could smell the history in the air, as you go down the steps from the abbey.

Yes Whitby has a real sense of history.  When I was young we would go there often, before it became to touristy, I usually only go in the winter when its quiet!

Good idea. That way you can see it when its the way it should be - do you have any pictures of it in Winter so we can see the contrast?

I have some somewhere!, I've been having trouble with a Hard drive witch holds pictures. I intend to take it to a company I've found to see if they can recover the  data!

I like the way you've got the handrail just a single line down the right side, leading your eye down and round to the beacon, and on to the rest of the pier. But I bet you wouldn't stand there if the sea was really heaving!

Now and again, you should keep your eyes open for lead ins like those. Although if you're like me, you'll be concentrating too much the main part of the subject.
